New SfSAP Working Group: Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP)

SfSAP is launching a Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) working group.

The group will develop Learning Frameworks and Outcomes that comprise of modules that support specific SA competencies, with each module providing recommended references, an overview of essential knowledge and skills, and expected learning outcomes focused on practical application.

The goal of the irradiation WG is

  • Define the experience, skills and knowledge, that a VHP professionals should have, to acknowledged as competent in the field of industrial VHP.
  • Create curricula and learning outcome documents to support VHP professionals in their career development pathway to become acknowledged as competent.
  • Ensure that the WG is up to date with current VHP controls standards, practices and developments, to ensure the continual development of competent professionals in VHP

Experience for joining the VHP WG is as follows:

Training experience

  • Must have received training in the field of VHP.
  • Demonstrated competency and continual learning in the field of VHP.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to effectively train others

VHP industry experience

  • Must have demonstrated experience the field of VHP for a minimum of 8 years
  • Experience must include both theoretical training and practical application of VHP
  • 5 Years learning
  • 5-8 Years implementing
  • Preferred Experience:  at least 5 Years of membership with active contribution to the industry through one or more of the following organizations:  AAMI/ISO/PDA/ASTM, etc.
  • Must have demonstrated active membership and continual contribution to the development of guidance documents and standards for VHP

Note: It is acknowledged that opportunity for membership in standards setting organizations is limited, particularly outside the US.  While membership and contribution to those organizations is preferred, it is not a requirement.
